Virginia goalie Tillman Johnson was named ACC player of the week after leading the men's lacrosse team to two victories last week.

Johnson, a sophomore from Annapolis, Md., began the week with a 10-save performance in the Cavaliers' 7-5 victory over Notre Dame last Tuesday, holding the Fighting Irish to their lowest scoring output of the year.

Johnson followed that performance with a 13-save game against Towson in the Cavaliers' 13-8 victory Sunday. In that game, Johnson held the Tigers to half their average scoring output for the season and did not allow a goal in the last 22 minutes of play. He also led the Cavaliers with seven ground balls.

For the week, Johnson recorded a .639 save percentage and a 6.50 goals against average.
