A: Democrat.
Q: Who did you vote for?
A: I voted for
Richards.
Q: Why did you vote for her?
A: I'm a Democrat. I would do straight ticket voting but they don't have that in Virginia.
Q: Do you think she'll win?
A: I assume, since we're in Virginia, Richards will lose. But I still hope she'll win.
Q: Since the Democrats have no senate candidate, how did you vote in that race?
A: I voted independent. I don't know the name, whichever one was listed alphabetically first. I just wanted to vote anti-republican.
Q: Why do you vote?
A: It makes you feel a little more like an American, and you get a little sticker.It's a matter of duty as an American: to vote and take part in government. And our government is based on democratic ideals. If you don't vote you can't complain about who's in office.
Q: What do you think the outcome of the elections will be nationally?
A: I think the Republicans are going to have both houses, unfortunately. Typically in mid-term elections the party opposite the president will pick up seats, but I don't think that will happen this time.
