Q: How long have you been driving a bus?

A: Since May of 2000, so two and a half years.

Q: What made you decide you wanted to drive?

A: I knew somebody who drove a bus at Virginia Tech, and it looked like fun, so I decided to try.

Q: What's your favorite part of driving a bus?

A: Being in control of a very large vehicle.

Q: Was it hard, learning to drive?

A: Yes and no. The first week I thought there was no way, but then it all comes together.

Q: Is UTS a tight community?

A: Very much so. More than I expected.

Q: What's the weirdest or funniest thing that ever happened to you while you were driving?

A: Once I had somebody doing somersaults in the back of the bus. Once somebody mooned me. And one day I drove four different buses because they all broke down.

Funlola Fagbohun, associate director of the first year experience, describes her experience working with OTP and how she strives to create a welcoming environment for first-years during orientation and beyond. Along with her role as associate director, summer Orientation leaders and OTP staff work continually to provide a safe and memorable experience for incoming students.
