Christian paces Cavaliers at Lou Onesty Invitational

The Virginia cross country team hosted the Lou Onesty Invitational Saturday in Charlottesville. Will Christian took top honors for the men, winning the individual title for the Virginia men's cross country squad.

Overall, the women's team produced six runners in the top 19 while the men finished their best six runners in the top 21.

Christian won the title with a time of 24:28.90. Teammate Andy Filachek took fifth in the meet, crossing the line in 24:49.80.

The Virginia men's side took third place as a team, behind Duke and No. 15 William & Mary. The No. 20 women's team took fourth place in the meet behind Duke, William & Mary and Richmond.

Senior Jane Maxwell took the highest place for the Cavalier women with freshman Angie Saterstad following just behind her senior teammate. Maxwell and Saterstad finished eight and ninth, respectively, with times of 18:19.90 and 18:21.90.
