Awards pile up for Virginia lacrosse

The Virginia men's lacrosse team continued raking in preseason accolades Thursday, as seven Cavaliers were named preseason All-Americans by Face-Off Yearbook. Senior defenseman Brett Hughes, senior goalie Tillman Johnson and junior attacker John Christmas garnered first team honors, while Jack deVilliers, Joe Yevoli and Kyle Dixon made the second team. Sophomore attacker Matt Ward made the honorable mention list.

Thursday's annoncement marks the end to a most triumphant week for the Cavaliers. On Monday, Face-Off Yearbook placed Virginia first in its pre-season rankings. The Cavaliers won the national title last season, beating Johns Hopkins in the championship game.
