Cavaliers beat FSU in overtime

The Virginia women's basketball team outlasted Florida State Friday night for an 82-80 overtime win. Junior guard LaTonya Blue hit the game-winning layup with no time left on the clock.

The Seminoles (10-8, 3-4 ACC) built a 22 point lead on the Cavaliers (9-8, 3-3) with just over seven minutes left in the first half, and took a 12 point advantage into the locker room at halftime.

Senior Anna Crosswhite came off the bench for Virginia to hit three crucial baskets late in the second half, the first two of which were three-pointers and the third of which sent the game into overtime, tied at 68.

Junior Kate Kreager led the Cavaliers with a career-high 19 points, while Blue and sophomore Tiffany Sardin each contributed 12 points.
