Virginia men, women top Duke

The Virginia men's and women's swimming and diving teams swept DukeSaturday, winning 20 of 26 combined events.

The No. 11 Cavalier men's squad (7-1, 4-0 ACC) won all but two of their events Saturday, defeating Duke 145-83. Freshman Greg Imboden won both the 50-meter and 100-meter freestyle, and junior Bo Greenwood won the 200-meter freestyle and an exhibition race of the 500-meter freestyle.

Other winning swimmers for the Cavaliers included the 200-meter medley relay team, junior Chris Cooper (100-meter backstroke), junior Brett Simon (1000-meter freestyle), senior Luke Wagner (200-meter medley) and senior Adam Kerpelman (100-meter butterfly).

Virginia also swept the diving competition with sophomore Andrew Barber winning the one-meter dive and sophomore Eric Kelley winning the three-meter dive.

The No. 17 women's swim team (5-2, 4-0 ACC) won the first four events of the day Saturday en route to topping Duke 124.5-111.5. Women's winners included the 200-meter medley relay team, freshman Rory Schmidt (1000-meter freestyle), freshman Kimi Kelly (200-meter freestyle), freshman Shannon Hogan (50-meter freestyle), sophomore Corey Berg (100-meter backstroke) and sophomore Katie Gordon (500-meter freestyle).

Senior Katie Prior swept the diving competition.
