"Let's talk about you and me. Let's talk about all the good things and the bad things that may be."
Welcome to the newest weekly addition to The Cavalier Daily - the Health & Sexuality page.
Whether your first time was amazing or you dragged your hung-over butt home from Rugby Road the next day ... whether you're a germophobe or reckless about your health... whether you're a nympho or celibate ... the Health & Sexuality page will have something for you.
In an effort to better cover these issues at the University, this page will try to focus on covering the health and sex issues most pertinent to University students, but we need your help.
First, The Cavalier Daily is still taking submissions through this Wednesday at 5 p.m. for a sex columnist. The hope for this column is to go beyond the musings of "Sex and the City" to provide a witty yet well-informed perspective on sexual issues facing our generation.
We want to represent both male and female perspectives, so don't shy away, boys! This is your chance to air any dirty laundry and set the record straight about the male perspective.
Second, we always welcome new reporters to come join our ranks and write informative stories for the page.
Does a specific disease or drug addiction fascinate you? Write about it. Are you a psychology major looking for an outlet for all those behavioral studies? Discuss them with us.
In the next few weeks, the page will cover a gamut of topics from drug use to safe gay sex, but suggestions always are welcome.
In addition, we have health and sex-related quizzes on the page, so for those of you who only open the paper for the word search and the comics, here is yet another way to pass the time during your most boring lectures.
Last but not least, we want to hear from you, the readers, regularly. What taboo topics would you like explained or discussed? Did we leave out one side of a story? Most importantly, what turns you on?
We want to know.
Salt-N-Pepa broke through boundaries and gender stereotypes with their candid hit, "Let's talk about sex." Hopefully, this new page will follow suit, serving as an honest and informative resource for University students about health and sexuality issues.
