Cavalier track and field to participate in Penn Relays

A number of relay teams and several individuals will compete for Virginia at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia this weekend. The contest events begin Thursday and continue into Saturday, showcasing the top athletes from high schools and colleges around the nation.

On the first day of competition, five Cavalier women -- Erin Crawford, Rachel Marks, Meggie Schuelke, Caroline Harvey and Sarah Convery -- will attempt to better their performances at the ACC Outdoor Championships held last weekend.

Friday will feature a number of Virginia athletes, including both the men's and women's 4x200-meter relays. Late in the day, Greg Blair will attempt to qualify once again for the pole vault competition at the NCAA regional meet later this year.

On the final day of the Relays, Matt Antunes, Zach Davis, Jon Britt and McGavock Dunbar will compete in the 4x800 relay and David Sullivan will follow with an attempt to break his own outdoor record in the pole vault championships.
