Women's Lacrosse defeats Temple, 20-5

The Virginia women's lacrosse team went on the road to Philadelphia Sunday and dominated the Temple Owls by the score of 20-5. Senior midfielder Amy Appelt notched three goals. She also accumulated three assists, one of which was the 100th of her career.

The stingy Virginia defense limited the Owls to a mere 13 shots. The Cavaliers also controlled the draws by a margin of 17-9. Sophomore midfielder Kate Breslin won two of the first three draws and junior attacker Tyler Leachman led the Cavaliers with four draw controls. Leachman also led the Virginia offensive attack with four goals and two assists.

Appelt's 228 career goals rank 12th all-time in the history of Division I women's lacrosse.
