Dear S&B, What are "furries?" Why do they exist? What can I do to stop them?
Furries can refer to multiple concepts:
1. Furry fandom -- fans of anthropomorphic creatures (animals with human characteristics) stories, characters and art. Think "Thundercats." There is actually a whole Internet subculture of furry fandom.
2. Humans who believe they are animal spirits residing in human bodies.
3. People who enjoy dressing up in animal costumes.
4. Those who enjoy dressing up in animal costumes for erotic pleasure, also known as "furverts."
Why do they exist? Is this really a health or sexuality question?
