The University of Virginia football program came one step closer to sorting out its coaching situation Wednesday, hiring Dave Borberly as the offensive line coach.
Borberly most recently worked at the University of Colorado. His resume also includes stints at Notre Dame, Stanford, Tulane, Temple and Rice.
He will be relied on not only to coach Virginia's young offensive line, but also to help with recruiting -- drawing on significant experience in the Northeast and West Coast.
The new hiring is the latest in a whirlwind of coaching changes that started in December.
Borberly partially will replace departed offensive line coach and offensive coordinator Ron Prince.
Earlier this month, the Cavaliers hired Mike London to be the team's defensive coordinator. London will take over for Al Golden, who left Charlottesville for Temple University.
In late December, Virginia hired Bob Diaco as the new linebackers and special teams coach. Diaco will perform the duties previously performed by Temple-bound Mark D'Onofrio, as well as some of the duties of the departed Danny Rocco.
Virginia has yet to issue word on a prospective offensive coordinator or defensive backs coach.
