University employee charged with assault and battery

University Police charged a University employee with one count of assault and battery Monday, according to University Police Lieut. Melissa Fielding.

Charles Adolph Carr, 25, was arrested after he made threatening statements and pulled a knife on a fellow University employee near Jordan Hall Thursday, Fielding said.

Carr, a lab technician for the biology and molecular genetics department, was released on a $2,500 personal bond Monday night.

His court date is set for Nov. 8.
