CTS buses not in service for Easter Sunday

Charlottesville Transportation Service buses will not run Sunday, according to City of Charlottesville spokesperson Ric Barrick.

"We are closed two days of the year: Christmas and Easter," Barrick said. "Also, Easter falls on a Sunday and we already have reduced service on Sunday."

Barrick added that, although no alternative transportation has been scheduled by the city while CTS, which includes free trolley service, is not running, the city does have a partnership with Jefferson Area United Transportation which will be offering rides by appointment.

Barrick, however, maintained that he doubts many people will be inconvenienced by the lack of service.

"Typically most folks stay home" on Easter, he said.

According to a press release, regular service will resume Monday.
