Love Connection

Date: March 28 Time: 7:30 p.m.

Location: three. restaurant on the Corner

Phi: "I met him outside of the restaurant. He was talking to one of my friends. We walked in together, and he seemed like a really nice guy."

Robert: "The funny thing is I met her over the summer volunteering for Virginia Reunions Weekend 2007, so I sort ofalready knew her. I don't have a thing for Asian girls, which is kind of weird, so I guess it wasn't love at first sight. We caught up from over the summer and talked about the [Love Connection] survey."

Phi: "We tried to figure out why we were set up. Honestly, I thought you put us together because we're both Asian. He asked me what my favorite television show was and I wanted to say 'The OC,' but I thought, 'That's really, really girly.' But he ended up telling me that he liked 'The OC,' which I thought was pretty cool."

Robert: "She has a great personality. There were no awkward pauses. She's quirky and dorky in a good way."

Phi: "He told me he had a man crush on Johnny Depp, which I thought was adorable. I told him about my car problems and my plans after graduation. It was not awkward; it was as if we'd talked many times before."

Robert: "I have a lot of friends who know Phi from U-Guides and they gave me the heads up.They said she was awesome, very witty and outgoing."

Phi: "We finished dinner around 9:30 and left the restaurant. We were just walking and he invited me back to his dorm to play 'Guitar Hero.' I'm a huge dork, but I really do love 'Guitar Hero.'"

Robert: "I told her my residents had cut out the ['Guitar Hero' Love Connection] ad and put it on my desk."

Phi: "He's definitely better at 'Guitar Hero' than I am.He's like expert level. His residents came in to play, too, which was really cute. They asked him, 'Hey, how was your date?' and he said, 'Actually, this is her.'"

Robert: "At 10:30 she had a party to go to, and I had just finished my thesis..."

Phi: "He had only slept for three hours that day so I was like, 'You need to go to bed.' It ended with a hug and 'Hope to see you again.'"

Robert: "I'll definitely hang out with her again, not romantically but in a friend way. We sparked pretty quickly. She's really fun to talk to; the conversation never stopped."

Phi: "I don't know what will happen. I can't really say. I really liked him -- he's really nice and we had a really great conversation. I guess we'll see."

Robert and Phi are now Facebook friends, but have not met since their date.
