Charlottesville trash — not just for the curb
“Trash and Treasures of Charlottesville II” — no, we’re not talking about a garbage man strike or even a bad local horror flick. The McIntire Department of Art and the Department of Anthropology are once again showcasing the anthropological and aesthetic importance of what the average Charlottesville citizen may consider trash. After the success of “Trash and Treasures I,” the departments have teamed up once again to exhibit objects found on the streets of Charlottesville. This year’s exhibit promises to be more complex and stunning than its predecessor. The exhibit will be on display in Brooks Hall indefinitely and is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Kanye to produce television featuring... puppets?
Kanye West got the blogosphere talking a couple weeks ago with his vocoder-only new single “Love Lockdown,” and with his latest announcement, it seems he’s ready to fire up keyboards everywhere once more. Kanye, fellow rapper Rhymefest and Jackhole Productions will be teaming together to produce a puppet-centric television show called “Alligator Boots.” Kanye will be hosting the pilot episode, but he intends to have a new guest host for every following episode. The series will feature original music from both rappers. While the show is still in the works, Comedy Central is currently considering adding it to its 2009 roster.
