Mistaken support

It is disappointing that members of our community have signed a petition supporting Bill Ayers. Although I’m sure neither they nor Barack Obama support the educator’s heinous actions, they are all committing a grave error for supporting an unrepentant terrorist.

If Ayers were sorry for his acts of terror, he should be forgiven and embraced as an acceptable member of the political and educational community. However, he has not done so, and in fact, in an article published in The New York Times on September 11, 2001, he said that he “wished he would have done more” and left open the possibly of doing “more” in the future.
