Chiddy brings the Bang to Grounds

I have to admit, when I went to the Student Activities Building Saturday to see Chiddy Bang in concert, I harbored a few preemptive doubts about the show. I was worried the venue was too small and that the Philadelphia rap group would not translate its highly sample-based, electronic feel to a live concert successfully. I could not have been more wrong. The concert was highlighted by a successful transition from the studio to the stage, showing off improvisation at its best and giving the impression that the pair ought to have high hopes for the future.

Super Team, another rap duo accompanied by a guitarist, backup singer and DJ, warmed up the crowd, performing a set that was roughly a half-hour long. Although the group started out with less-than-impressive rapping that felt like singsong chanting in unison accompanied by bursts of rap, it highlighted its set with a rambunctious cover of "Can I Get Witcha," a Notorious B.I.G.
