The No. 7 women's soccer team (11-3-2, 5-2-1 ACC) dismantled unranked Miami (10-6-1, 4-4-0 ACC) 4-1 yesterday in Coral Gables, Fla.
Four different players scored for the Cavaliers - senior defender Kika Toulouse, sophomore midfielder Erica Hollenberg, sophomore midfielder Julia Roberts and senior midfielder Sinead Farrelly. It was the first goal of the season for Toulouse and Hollenberg, the third for Roberts and the eighth for Farrelly.
Sunday's win places Virginia tied for second in the ACC, behind North Carolina.
The Cavaliers round out conference play this week when they face off against N.C. State and Clemson, who hold the bottom two spots in the ACC standings. Thursday's game against the Wolfpack is at home, while Sunday's game against the Tigers is away.
