Taking a look at Charlottesville

University coffee-addicts are faced with a difficult problem: where to find that perfect cup of java. Should you settle for the inexpensive coffee in the library, or should you splurge for Starbucks? Is it worth it to make the trip downtown, or should you stay on the Corner? I took to the streets to find the best and the worst coffee Charlottesville has to offer.

All the coffees I sampled were taken black with a small amount of creamer. All prices are for a small cup at each location.

DUNKIN' DONUTS \n$1.29\nCoffee: A coffee at Dunkin' costs $1.29. The taste is mild, with just enough sweetener to keep it from being bitter. The coffee is a bit watery, but the flavor more than makes up for it, and the subtle aftertaste will keep you wishing you had another cup. But much of their work goes into planning summer orientation sessions. Funlola Fagbohun, associate director of the first year experience, describes her experience working with OTP and how she strives to create a welcoming environment for first-years during orientation and beyond.
