Gov. proposes student contest for safety PSA

Gov. Bob McDonnell announced yesterday the launch of a challenge for undergraduates to emphasize the importance of safety on college campuses across the state.\nTitled "College Campus Safety and Violence Prevention Public Service Announcement Challenge," McDonnell's initiative offers students the opportunity to create public service videos addressing the safety issues most important to them. Videos must be submitted online by April 30, and one will be chosen to air on television stations throughout the state.

"The more we do to engage our students, start conversations and educate the public about these difficult issues, the easier it is to address them head-on," McDonnell stated in a press release.
