Ten Miler will close roads

Select roads on and around Grounds will be closed in the morning for the Charlottesville Ten Miler foot race Saturday.

The race will begin in front of University Hall on Massie Road, which will be closed from about 7:30 to 8 a.m. Copeley Road will be closed from 7:30 a.m. until all runners have passed, and Alderman and McCormick roads will be closed starting at 7:35 a.m. to make way for race participants. Alderman and McCormick will be closed again when the runners return.

Stadium and Whitehead Roads will be closed from about 7:45 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., and Rugby Road will be closed between University and Grady avenues until the runners pass. University Avenue will be closed between Rugby Road and Jefferson Park Avenue, with traffic diverted onto Jefferson Park Avenue.

The race will finish at the Lambeth Field footbridge on Emmet Street, closing the southbound side at about 9:40 a.m.
