Rocco earns starting nod against Tribe

Estimated reading time: 0 minutes

Virginia coach Mike London announced yesterday that sophomore quarterback Michael Rocco will start Saturday against William & Mary.

The Cavaliers have toyed with four quarterbacks since spring practices, but Rocco had recently been receiving the most snaps with the first-team offense and will take the first snaps against the Tribe.

London also said, however, that he expects freshman quarterback David Watford to play during select situations Saturday, noting that although the true freshman is still developing, he provides the team with a more athletic option. Watford is listed as interchangeable with redshirt sophomore Ross Metheny at No. 2 on the quarterback depth chart.
