Tech of the Week: Matternet

Who: Singularity University and DIY Drones

What: Matternet is an integrated system of software and drones which can be used for deliveries in remote locations of Africa, supplying rural areas with medical supplies, food and other materials. The drones can carry up to 2.2 pounds and in later models four pounds. In rural areas, the use of this technology also decreases the chances of theft by warlords and other obstacles.

The Future: This technology may change the way humanitarian aid is delivered, helping thousands of people around the world.
