Love Connection: Marian and Keenan

Will their age difference be too much of a hurdle?

Marian:\nMajor: Psychology and possibly elementary education masters

Sexual orientation: straight

University involvement: First Year Players, University Programs Council and Chi Alpha

Hometown: Greensboro, N.C.

Ideal date (person): taller than 5-foot-6, physically fit, confident, nice smile, charismatic, sweet, easy to be around and outgoing

Ideal date (activity): Dinner and dancing

If you could date any celebrity, who would it be?: Channing Tatum, Taye Diggs, Adam Rodriguez, Ian Somerhalder, WILL SMITH.

Deal breakers?: Extremely introverted, smoking, negativity, overly conceited, hatred of animals/kids, not ambitious, closed-mindedness

Describe a typical weekend: Going out on weekends, spending time with my friends, going on adventures, etc.

Hobbies: Hanging out with friends, working with children, watching movies, working out, camping, reading and volunteering

If your dating life were a primetime or reality show, what would it be?: "Saved By The Bell: The College Years"

What makes you a good catch?: I'm funny, outgoing, laidback, bold, cute, a night owl, flirty, intelligent and caring. I can dance, I'm spontaneous - always up for new things. I can cook, I smile a lot and tend to always be in a good mood.

Describe yourself in one sentence: I'm a nice, happy, outgoing person who likes to have fun!

Keenan:\nMajor: Foreign affairs/Chinese

Sexual orientation: straight

University involvement: Virginia Wushu Club

Hometown: Tupelo, Miss.

Ideal date (person): I like a girl who has a great smile, and eyes that paralyze! I find the athletic body type very attractive, and I also like the slightly slender look, too. Personality wise, I like girls who are down to earth, warm and, most importantly, real. Also, I like girls who know how to let their hair down and let loose, too.

Ideal date (activity): [It] would be to have a picnic at the park, play frisbee and play on the playground - swinging, monkey bars, etc.

If you could date any celebrity, who would it be? If I could date a celebrity it would be Monica Bellucci.

Deal breakers?: A major turnoff for me is a snooty attitude.

Describe a typical weekend: A typical weekend for me is going to the gym, playing tennis, chilling with friends, watching movies and eating junk food, and going out from time to time.

Hobbies: I love martial arts. I've been doing Taekwondo for about 14 years, and I also like music. I play the violin and drums.

If your dating life were a primetime or reality show, what would it be?: It would be "Beauty and the Geek" because I can relate to the geeks in the area of never dating.

What makes you a good catch?: I'm very toned because I always keep myself physically active. I'm a very chill guy and not cocky, I'm a good ole southern gentleman, and I can protect you from harm.

Describe yourself in one sentence: I'm not short; I'm fun-sized.

Keenan: I've never been on a blind date. I thought it might be awkward at first, just because we don't really know each other, and there would be some awkward silences. I thought you were going to match me up with my celebrity match-up. No, just kidding. I was expecting her to be fun at least. I guess I stressed that I like a sense of humor. So I was hoping for someone that was at least easy to talk to.

Marian: I was afraid ... I was going to get matched with someone creepy. I didn't know if it was going to be fun. I like people, but I don't know if I like people this much. It was different. It was way more fun than I thought it was going to be.

Keenan: I was waiting for a little bit after 7. I was wondering if she was lost. I thought maybe she was on the wrong side of the Rotunda, but then she came around to the right side. At the initial greeting we shook hands and then hugged after. We just hit it off and started talking.

Marian: [If] I hadn't been coming at that exact moment, I wouldn't have seen him. He was in front of the TJ statue. I was coming from the complete opposite direction because I was on the wrong side of the Rotunda. I walked over and didn't see him, so I thought he disappeared for a second. I was like, "Oh are you Keenan?" and then we had a hug moment.

Keenan: My first impression was that she was very energetic. She was very happy to be there; she was excited, so that was cool. That helped to take the pressure off.

Marian: [My first impression] was that he was really nice, especially about me being there a little late. He was very positive.

Keenan: We went to Marco & Luca. She had never been there, so I suggested [it].

Marian: I told him to decide where we were going to dinner. We had dumplings at Marco & Luca. He asked if I had ever had dumplings before, and I was like, "nope." So, we went.

Keenan: I avoided the whole major and 'what year are you?' deal. We kind of just figured each other out during the conversation. I kind of recognized she was a first year because she had never [tried Marco & Luca] dumplings, and she didn't know what side of the Rotunda to meet [on]. So I knew she was a first year. Later, she actually asked what year I was. When I told her I was a third year, she was like "really?" I was like, "Yeah, I'm old."

Marian: We talked about how my friends found him on YouTube. I didn't know who [I was being set up with]. They went through all the Keenans they could find, and told me each one could be him. I didn't actually Facebook stalk him before the date, which was an accomplishment. The only thing I knew about him was the YouTube video, but there are a million other Keenans so I could have been wrong.

Keenan: We stayed at the dumpling place until they closed. We noticed they were closing, and at the same time we said, "I think they're closing. We should go." We had a lot of ditto moments.

Marian: We finished eating and walked to the Chapel, because I'd never been there either, and then he walked me home.

Keenan: I walked her home. It was mad cold outside. I live at Shea House and I was really wanting just to go back [there]. [I thought that] maybe she wanted to take the bus, but then she was like, "I really don't like taking the bus. I like to walk." So I walked her back to Woody.

Marian: We hugged and exchanged numbers. He texted me to tell me he got home safely and that we should hang out again soon.

Keenan: I definitely think we'll hang out again. She's someone I'd like to get to know better and hang out with.

Marian: I think we'll hang out. I should Facebook friend him, because he couldn't find me on Facebook.

Keenan: On a scale of one to 10, I'd give the date an 8.75 because it was really easy and flowed really well. We had a lot of stuff in common. I don't know if I saw any romance in it. It was a really friendly thing, which was really cool. It was a good initial meeting and it was a good date, a well-spent Sunday night.

Marian: I would rank it an 8. It was like talking to someone I was really comfortable with and it was really fun. We were very similar, but I never give anything a 10.
