The Charlottesville Police Department is investigating reports of multiple shots fired near the intersection of 10th St NW and West Main St, according to a University-wide community alert Friday evening from Tim Longo, University chief of police and vice president for safety and security. The report was filed at 10:21 p.m.
One University student shared images on Twitter of bullet holes in their apartment’s window and walls, saying the incident was the one referenced in the community alert. The student said that no one living in the residence was injured.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing, and CPD urges anyone with information about the alleged incident to contact CPD immediately.
This is the third community alert of the semester and the first related to shots fired. The first alert concerned a burglary off 14th St and the second a sexual assault in the vicinity of University Circle.
