The Charlottesville Police Department received a report at approximately 8 p.m. Saturday of a past burglary that occurred on the 300 block of 14th Street, per a community alert sent by Timothy Longo, chief of the University Police Department and vice president for security and safety.
The two suspects, who remain unidentified, are reported to have entered the residence at approximately 12:20 a.m. Saturday and were asked to leave after being discovered. They then departed from the residence in an unknown direction. The suspects are described as two males between ages 20 and 25, one wearing a red sweatshirt and black pants, and the other wearing a blue shirt with black pants.
It was later found that items were missing from the residence. No weapons or injuries have been reported at this time.
This is the fifth community alert this month, following a shots fired incident, an attempted abduction and strangulation and a robbery.
Community alerts are shared via email to the University community when there is timely information about a threat that can be released to the community without compromising any ongoing investigations. Timely warnings are issued when there is an ongoing threat to the community.
