The Virginia track and field team will host Maryland, Pennsylvania and Columbia Saturday for its first outdoor quad meet of the season. After a slew of invitationals and relays for both the men’s and women’s teams, it will be a change of pace.

The Virginia men’s indoor track and field team finished with 12 total points in the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships this past weekend. Host team Texas A&M won the national championship with a score of 46, and the Cavaliers placed 16th overall in the nation.

Virginia men’s indoor track and field finished the weekend strong and advanced to the NCAA Championships with a second-place finish in the ACC Championships this past weekend. The No. 15 Cavaliers had a great meet, finishing with 98 points and only behind Virginia Tech’s 109 team points.

Virginia indoor track and field will travel to South Bend, Ind. to compete in the upcoming ACC Championships at Notre Dame this weekend. The competition will begin Thursday, Feb. 23 and continue until Saturday, Feb. 25.

The Virginia men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams competed in the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational over the weekend. The men’s team came away with two first-place finishes in the 3000-meter as well as the one-mile run. The women’s team ended with one first place finish in the women’s 800-meter run.

The Virginia men’s and women’s track and field teams came up short this weekend at the indoor Notre Dame Invitational. Of seven teams, the men finished last with a total of 38 points and the women finished sixth with a total of 48 points.

The Virginia men’s cross country team finished 18th in last weekend’s NCAA Championships. It was a positive ending to their 2016 season. As a team, they finished with 476 points, 351 points behind the NCAA champion Northern Arizona.

The Virginia men’s soccer team defeated Vermont in its NCAA Tournament second round matchup. The Cavaliers (11-3-5) scored a game-winning goal by junior midfielder Pablo Aguilar.

The Virginia men’s cross country team ran its way to an automatic bid in the NCAA Championships with a second place finish in the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships. The Cavaliers finished with a team score of 105, trailing first place finisher North Carolina State by only 15 points.

In what has been a disappointing season, Virginia football has not had many reasons to smile. Many hoped to see a new wave of confidence and play that has eluded the Cavaliers (2-7, 1-4 ACC) for the past few seasons. And while there have been improvements on both offense and defense this past year, the results have not translated into many wins.

No. 17 Virginia men’s soccer hosts NC State in the first round of the ACC Tournament Wednesday. After ending the season on a nine-match unbeaten streak, the Cavaliers (9-2-5, 3-2-3 ACC) head into the postseason looking for another deep run in the NCAA Tournament.

A string of three consecutive losses marked another disappointing start to the Virginia football season. However, after two straight wins and an offense that totaled over 400 yards in consecutive games, all eyes were on their return to the field after a much needed bye week.

It has been a great two weeks for the Virginia men’s soccer team. After a 1-0 win against Hofstra, the Cavaliers (7-2-4, 2-2-2 ACC) defeated two top-10 ACC opponents and rides a six game unbeaten streak into Tuesday night’s matchup against William & Mary.

In the second home game of the week, No. 21 Virginia hosts No. 2 Notre Dame at Klöckner Stadium Friday at 7 p.m. It will be the second game of the week for the Cavaliers (6-2-4, 1-2-2 ACC), as they continue to try and extend their unbeaten streak against a difficult in conference opponent in the Fighting Irish (10-1-1, 3-1-1 ACC).

Virginia hosts in-state opponent Radford Tuesday in Klöckner Stadium at 7 p.m. It will be first of three straight home games, two of which will be non-conference contests. The Cavaliers (6-2-3, 1-2-2 ACC) look to extend their two-match win streak, including their most recent victory against conference rival No. 4 North Carolina.
