Graduate students will face an average tuition increase of between three to five percent depending on the program, with Darden students facing up to 12 percent increases.

Five audit projects were completed in the second quarter of the 2022 fiscal year, with 13 currently in progress.

Christa Acampora, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, described the necessity of the liberal arts curriculum in confronting issues ranging from the decline of democracy to climate change to public health concerns.
Other plans for increasing the College at Wise’s enrollment include a recent move to eliminate application fees for all students and outreach to local counties’ schools to provide better education to the Appalachian area the school serves.
The Living Honor Project is an initiative proposed by University President Jim Ryan and Clement to aid students and alumni in learning about Honor and its role at the University.
The committee also voted to approve the Darden School of Business master plan, which aims to enhance the academic experience of students by creating an academic “hub,” enhancing green space and improving connectivity between North Grounds and Central Grounds.
In 2019, the University launched “Honor the Future”, a $5 billion fundraising campaign with the goal to improve the community and become the best public university by 2030.
If the new amendment is adopted in October, the Senate will instead elect a slate of three candidates.
In short, the University has distinctly failed where its counterparts in Virginia higher education have succeeded to more democratically elect the student members of their Boards.
The Board meetings will primarily take place at the Rotunda but the Health System Board meeting will be located at the Boar’s Head Resort and all meetings will be live-streamed.
The College at Wise will hold in-state undergraduate student tuition flat with one time rebate of $182. The budget impact is $160,000 and will be funded with additional commonwealth funds.
