Men's golf wins season-opening Northern Collegiate

This weekend, the Virginia men’s golf team claimed victory at the 13-team Northern Collegiate at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Illinois in the Cavaliers’ first tournament of the season. No. 13 Virginia shot a collective 15-over 879 at the 54-hole tournament to best Winthrop and Ohio State by three strokes each.

McCarthy heads to World Amateur Team Championships

When the United States Golf Association called Denny McCarthy, the Virginia senior missed the call because he was celebrating a family member’s birthday, missing the call. After calling the number back, McCarthy headed back downstairs to his assembled relatives with news which more than warranted a celebratory glass of champagne.


	David Pastore’s even-par 72 earned him a fourth place finish at the Wolfpack Spring Open.

No. 8 men's golf continues roll, wins Wolfpack Spring Open

The No. 8 Virginia men’s golf team won its second consecutive tournament Saturday, shooting a 4-over 292 to best second-place Clemson by three strokes at the rain-shortened Wolfpack Spring Open at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh, N.C. The event was condensed from 54 holes to 18 holes after rain precluded Friday play.

Women's golf preps for strong field at ACCs

Seeking the first conference title in program history, the Virginia women’s golf team tees off at the ACC Championships on Thursday morning in Greensboro, N.C. The Cavaliers, ranked No. 23 by Golfstat, face a challenging field that features five top-25 opponents.


	Junior captain Denny McCarthy, ranked seventh nationally and a returning All-American, led the No. 9 Cavaliers in the fall with a 70.25 stroke average in four events. McCarthy recently became the first Virginia player to be named to the Ben Hogan Award Watch List.

No. 9 Cavaliers prepare to tee off spring season

The No. 9 Virginia men’s golf team finished qualifying Sunday just in time to avoid the snow and will head south next week, teeing off in competition for the first time since October. The Cavaliers will travel to Aiken, SC to compete in the Palmetto Intercollegiate March 10 and 11, followed by the Schenkel Invitational in Statesboro, Ga. from March 14-16.

Altomare claims emotional ACC Women's Golf title

With her father looking on and a Boston Red Sox bracelet around her left wrist, the Shrewsbury, Mass. native claimed the first ACC Women’s Golf individual championship in Cavalier history with a 4-over 217 at Sedgefield Country Club Sunday.

But much of their work goes into planning summer orientation sessions. Funlola Fagbohun, associate director of the first year experience, describes her experience working with OTP and how she strives to create a welcoming environment for first-years during orientation and beyond. Along with her role as associate director, summer Orientation leaders and OTP staff work continually to provide a safe and memorable experience for incoming students.
