Class Giving Committee kicks off 2015 campaign

The Fourth-year Trustees launched the Class Giving campaign last week. In the email to graduating students, the committee said tuition covers just 17 percent of total University revenue — though for exclusively academic revenue, the number is closer to 36 percent.

White House launches sexual assault prevention campaign

The White House announced the launch of a new sexual assault prevention initiative Friday: “It’s On Us” Public Awareness Campaign to Help Prevent Campus Sexual Assault.The campaign was driven by the White House’s Task Force to Protect Students from Sexual Assault, convened in January 2014.

Kenney addresses University College Republicans

Shaun Kenney, the executive director of the Republican Party of Virginia, spoke to University College Republicans at their meeting Wednesday evening. Kenney discussed the upcoming election for Senate and other races in Virginia taking place this November.

In a video released Thursday by Charlottesville Police, Graham can be seen walking on the Downtown Mall opposite Sal's Italian Restaurant at 1:06 a.m.The man police identified as following Graham enters the screen at 13 seconds and stops at 24 seconds.

UDems, MRC host Ferguson discussion

The University Democrats and the Minority Rights Coalition hosted a discussion about factors of leadership which give rise to crises such as the recent unrest in Ferguson, Missouri. Howard Hoege, the assistant dean for development and strategic initiatives at the Batten School, spoke about his experiences and opinions regarding effective leadership in such situations.
