Sabato hosts post-election politics discussion

The University Center for Politics hosted its 16th Annual American Democracy Conference Thursday to discuss the results of the elections from earlier this month, as well as the next election cycle in 2016. The conference featured a myriad of veterans from both the Republican and Democratic parties to discuss these topics on two panels.

Huguely files state Supreme Court appeal

The appeal of former University student George Huguely V, who was convicted of murdering his ex-girlfriend Yeardley Love in May 2012, also a University student at the time, went before the Virginia Supreme Court this week. The Court received the initial petition in April and the court record in June. A hearing was scheduled this week to determine whether the Court would hear the appeal.

Class Giving Committee kicks off 2015 campaign

The Fourth-year Trustees launched the Class Giving campaign last week. In the email to graduating students, the committee said tuition covers just 17 percent of total University revenue — though for exclusively academic revenue, the number is closer to 36 percent.
