Jacqueline Novogratz, University alumna and Acumen founder and CEO, will speak at Valedictory Exercises May 19, U.Va. Director of Athletics Carla Williams will speak at May 20 Final Exercises, and Louis P. Nelson, architectural history professor and Vice Provost for Academic Outreach, will speak at May 21 Final Exercises.
The event was hosted by the UVA Center for Politics and Charlottesville Tomorrow, and it was meant to give Charlottesville community members more information about the candidates’ platforms.
The inclusion of three artists — hinted at by the UPC writing “⅔” in their earlier announcements — represents a break in a longstanding tradition from solo performances.
Programming across all four days includes events such as open houses, tours of Grounds and resource fairs.
Although he has faith in the short-term benefits of his proposals, Longo stressed the need for a deeper understanding of root causes and wider community change such as public investments and after-school programs.
Kopelnik said she hopes to bolster trust between students and UJC during her term, as well as improving the student body’s understanding of UJC by expanding the role of educators.

U.Va. Health announced today that there will be new masking and visitation policies beginning April 18. The areas in which face masks are optional will be expanded to include administrative and outpatient centers. The University Medical Center visitation policies will return to those in place before the pandemic.

Students at the University have established a chapter of the co-ed, Environmental Science fraternity Epsilon Eta. Epsilon Eta was founded in 2006 at UNC Chapel hill as a co-ed environmental fraternity, and has grown in popularity with 18 active chapters across the United States.
President of August Medical Group Dr. J. Scott Jus was appointed Monday as the new chief executive officer of the University of Virginia Physicians Group. Just will be taking over the role from J. Corey Feist, who stepped down Dec. 31, 2021.
