Cavs crush Wake 68-44

In the backdrop of last night's 68-44 thrashing of Wake Forest beamed Mike Scott's face - plastered on a fan's hand-crafted dollar bill with the slogan, "In Scott We Trust." After shooting a perfect 9-of-9 from the field while scoring 19 points, the senior forward demonstrated why he's earned John Paul Jones' faith. Scott kick-started a Cavaliers team, which had suffered a last-second 58-55 loss against Florida State Saturday, by immediately nailing two jumpers.

Sisters follow in father

Meredith and Lauren Perdue were born to swim for Virginia. The sisters not only serve as a dynamic duo for the Cavaliers' swimming and diving team, but they're also carrying on a family legacy in the process. Their father, Phil Perdue, swam for Virginia during his time at the University.

With eight minutes remaining in the second half, the No.16 Virginia men's basketball team trailed No.21 Florida State 42-29, but the Cavaliers battled back and in the last few minutes had a slim shot of forcing overtime. Virginia had the ball with two seconds left, but junior guard Jontel Evans couldn't make a three-point shot before the buzzer sounded and Florida State foiled Virginia's comeback bid, 58-55. Saturday's loss added one more heartbreaking defeat to the Cavaliers' 12-year winless streak in Tallahassee. In addition to stopping Virginia's three-game winning streak, the Seminoles (16-6, 7-1 ACC) won their seventh straight game and cemented their position at the top of the conference along with North Carolina.
