What a difference a year makes. The 2009-10 NHL season ended on a goal by Chicago Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane, whose overtime score closed out the Philadelphia Flyers in six games and saw the Hawks hoist the Stanley Cup for the first time since 1961.

Cavaliers take first at Tampa

The No. 25 Virginia men's golf team dominated the field at the Gary Koch Intercollegiate in Tampa, Fla., this past weekend, finishing nine strokes ahead of runner-up Auburn. Junior Ben Kohles led the Cavaliers with the fourth individual title of his career, posting rounds of 5-under 67, 7-under 65 and 3-over 75 during the two-day tournament.

Team collects first ACC win

The Virginia volleyball team lost a highly contested 4-1 match Friday night against Georgia Tech before earning its first conference win Sunday afternoon against Clemson in five sets. The Cavaliers (7-8, 1-4 ACC) began Friday night with a strong effort, winning the first set 25-19.

After two losses in Florida last weekend, the Virginia volleyball team returns to Memorial Gymnasium in search of its first conference win. Fortunately for the Cavaliers, Georgia Tech and Clemson are also coming off winless weekends, as both fell to Wake Forest and Duke.
