Olympic gold medalist to receive another honor

During halftime of the Virginia women’s basketball team’s home game against Georgia Tech, the school will honor star senior swimmer and 2012 London Olympics gold medalist Lauren Perdue as part of National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Sunday, Feb.

The Virginia swimming and diving teams eviscerated their season-opening competition this weekend, capturing all 32 events against Navy on Friday before sweeping Pittsburgh on the road Sunday. The women cruised past the Midshipmen 168-118 and earned the top four finishes in 11-of-16 races.
