Do not return to sender: 'Service' delivers

An unlikely combination, an unlikely fusion of genres, and an unlikely method of production -- if "Give Up," the debut from Postal Service, fails to be anything, it is orthodox. Postal Service is the collaboration of Ben Gibbard and Jimmy Tamborello, most recently of Death Cab for Cutie and Dntel, respectively.

'Window' of opportunity shut

Massive Attack never was intended to be an electronic act. A product of the burgeoning hip-hop scene in late 1980s Bristol, Massive Attack crafted its debut, "Blue Lines," with intentions of sending hip-hop on a more layered and more down-tempo, albeit less danceable course.

The Pumpkin's dissemination was hardly elegant, however, as its popularity and fair-weather following began to wane in the late 90s.
