Are you ready for some...soccer?

Gear up and get ready, because today's men's soccer game against JMU has a, well, hat trick of fun and exciting stuff in store. If you need three compelling reasons other than the fact that our guys' soccer team is ranked eighth in the nation to haul yourself out to Klockner at 8:00 p.m. to show your support, here they are:

First, thanks to the efforts of third-year College student Patrick Kelly, a.k.a. Superfan, the right-hand third of the bleachers will be a "students only" section.

"A lot of families come to the games, and they don't get as rowdy as they should when I try to start cheers," Kelly said. He qualified the statement by adding that he's "not saying students should get wasted and come to the soccer games," but the student section would "increase student interaction and be an intimidating force" for the opposing team.

Kelly also will hand out free T-shirts to the first 50 fans who show up, courtesy of Virginia Sports Promotions.

Incentive number two to get excited about Virginia soccer: Plan 9 will give away a $100 gift certificate to the most crazily dressed fan. Don't worry, Superfan doesn't count. But his status as the crazy-dressing fan guru has earned him a position as one of the judges.

Haven't you always wanted to paint your face orange and wear something ridiculous anyway?

And reason number three to attend tonight's game pertains only to fourth-years. The Class of 2001 Trustees are sponsoring a tailgate complete with food and drink at the stadium beginning at 5:30.

So, to sum up: free T-shirts, free food, an entire section of the bleachers dressed absurdly and cheering rowdily, the potential to win money, and a sure-fire victory over the 'put up your Dukes'.

Like we said, are you ready for some soccer?
