Volleyball hopes to shake off inconsistency

Led by seniors Katie Jones and Deanna Zwarich, the Cavalier women's volleyball team will host N.C. State tonight and North Carolina tomorrow at University Hall. Both matches start at 7:30 p.m.

The Cavaliers (7-8, 3-2 ACC) defeated Clemson 3-1 Saturday. But, as Zwarich pointed out, the team has been inconsistent. In each of its last two weekends, Virginia has lost its Friday match before rebounding to win Saturday. Two weeks ago at home, the Cavs were swept by Wake Forest and then beat Florida State, 3-1. Last weekend, they followed the same pattern against Georgia Tech and Clemson.

"When I step on the court I don't know which U.Va. team will be there, whether it will be the one that lost to Wake or the one that beat Florida State," Zwarich said.
