Women's club tennis defeats Longwood, welcomes new members

The women's club tennis team traveled to Farmville this past Sunday and earned a win over Longwood, a Division II varsity team. Fourth year Nicole Griglione, third year Jackie Culver, second years Taylor Sharp and Meredith Van Tine, and firstyears Mallori Brown, Heather Blish and Andrea Lawhon all had wins to help the team prevail over the Lancers.

The women's club tennis program had an amazing amount of talented girls come out for the team this fall. Congratulations to the new team members who toughed it out at tryouts: second years Lili Hyder, Kim Schloss and Nari Ker and first years Van Tine, Blish, Brown, Lawhon, Leigh Schoettizer and Jamie Zakkak. The team's next match is this Saturday against JMU, at Snyder Tennis Center at 10:30 a.m.
