Rotunda Stop...

Courtney Hagen -- Fourth-year CollegeMargaret Kramer -- Fourth-year Engineering

Q: How do you two feel about the fall season in Charlottesville and at U. Va.?

MK: Nothing'sbetter than fall in Charlottesville in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Q: As Lawnies, how do you two feel about the work Facilities Management does, out here every day cleaning up leaves?

CH: They keep the Lawn looking nice, especially for tourists, with little payoff.

MK: Recognition. That's true. They're out here all day long.

CH: At 7:00 when I go to get in the shower, they're sitting there picking up trash. They literally go through with the little picker-uppers and they pick up every piece of trash.

MK: They clean up everything for us.

CH: People don't even realize. They make all the leaves into piles and then kids come and destroy them.Kids move them everywhere.

Q: Have you ever been tempted to jump in a leaf pile and play around for a while?

MK: Definitely did that yesterday. See that hill with all the yellow leaves? Definitely rolled down it. There were a bunch of kids that rolled down that hill, and when they left with their parents, I did it after.

CH: A lot of people are getting their pictures with the leaves, too. A lot of people get pictures in leaf piles. I've gotten one of those, actually, in the middle of a leaf pile.

MK: People actually bring professional photographers out here in the leaves to make their Thanksgiving cards and their Christmas cards.
