Cavaliers hope to outshine Terrapins

Competition between Virginia and Maryland is not limited to the hardwood this week. The Terrapin men's and women's swimming and diving teams will come to Charlottesville to take on the Cavaliers at the Aquatic and Fitness Center this Saturday.

Virginia has honed its sights on the meet, the final dual of the season and last meet before ACC Championships, while still trying to simultaneously keep the big picture within in focus.

"In the process of trying to make the program a more dynamic one on the national level, the subconscious effect has been a lessened focus on the importance of each and every conference match-up," coach Mark Bernardino said.

Funlola Fagbohun, associate director of the first year experience, describes her experience working with OTP and how she strives to create a welcoming environment for first-years during orientation and beyond.
