While competing in the 2003 ConocoPhillips Spring National Swimming Championships, Virginia volunteer assistant swim coach Ed Moses clocked a new American record in the 100 meter breaststroke with a time of 1:00.21. He bettered his own record by eight hundredths of a second, and took home his tenth national title.
Freshman Fran Crippen swam his way to a fifth place finish in the 400 freestyle with a time of 3:53.27.
Sophomore Michael Raab grabbed second place in the 200 butterfly (1:58.56) in the ConocoPhillips meet. With the place, he joined Moses in yesterday's Duel in the Pool meet, pitting the U.S. against Australia in head-to-head competition.
