ACC names Virginia's Will Christian season's first Runner of the Week

Virginia cross country runner Will Christian was named the ACC Runner of the Week after winning the Lou Onesty Invitational last weekend.

Christian ran a 24:28.90 to beat out Duke's All-ACC runner Michael Hatch by seven seconds in the eight-kilometer course.

The junior from Great Mills, Md. previously won the same Invitational in his debut as a freshman in 2001.

It is the first time Christian has received ACC Runner of the Week honors. It is also the first such honor awarded a Cavalier this season.
