The County will launch a three-week cleanup program tomorrow to assist residents with debris cleanup in the aftermath of Hurricane Isabel.
The program will begin tomorrow morning and run through Oct. 15.
The County will assume the costs associated with both of these clean-up efforts.
In partnership with the Rivanna Solid Waste Authority, the County is offering an amnesty period at the Ivy Materials Utilization Center for anyone disposing of storm-related vegetative debris, during which the usual tip fee will be waived.
The County also has set up drop-off sites at four parks where residents also can dispose of their debris free of charge. The sites, located at Darden Towe Park, Walnut Creek Park, Mint Springs Park and Chris Greene Lane Park, will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily during those weeks.
Debris at these locations will be mulched on site or transported to an appropriate site for disposal.
County officials encourage residents to use the IMUC option to reduce the need to transport waste from the parks.
