Freshman basketball player granted release

Freshman Alisa Wulff was granted release from the women's basketball team due to family medical problems, coach Debbie Ryan announced Wednesday.

Wulff's father recently was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and will require a heart transplant within the next two years. Wulff, who is from Ontario, Canada, said in a press release she wants to move closer to home to be with her family during this time.

"We will really miss Alisa both on and off the court," Ryan said in the press release. "She has been a tremendous asset to our program. We wish Alisa and her family well during these difficult times."

Wulff has played in a total of 25 games and started four games for the Cavaliers this season.
