Women's basketball 2005 recruiting class should add strength, depth

The Virginia women's basketball team has signed five All-Americans to the squad for the 2005 season in the early signing period.

Among the recruits is 6-foot-9 center Lindsay Hayward from Rocklin, Calif., who averages 10 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks per game at Rocklin High School. At 6-foot-1, Lyndra Littles of Washington, D.C. is an athletic power forward who averages 20 points and 10 rebounds per game at Archbishop Carroll High School.

Brintnee Milner of Martinsville, Va. is rated one of the top-25 guards in the country by the All-Star Girl's Report. Abby Robertson from Springfield, Va., a 6-foot-3 post player who averages 23 points per game, is rated the 38th best player in the country by All-Star Girls Report. And Guard Enonge Stovall from Philadelphia, Pa. averages 11 points and three steals per game.

The Blue Star Index rates Virginia's recruiting class the 16th best in the country.

Tonight at 7, the Virginia women look to improve their 2004-05 season in the first home game against Delaware State.
