We've reached a consensus (a small one) around the office and have found this to be a universal truth: For every situation in life, there's a Beatles song. For this issue, the song ringing in my head is "Hello, Goodbye," and I'll tell you why.Brace yourself, regular readers. This is the end of tableau as we know it. We're going from a tabloid format (that colorful insert that peppers the sidewalks around every newspaper box each Thursday) to a regular broadsheet style. In plain speak, we'll look more like your normal newspaper page. Find us, still on Thursdays, in the B section, with the same great content, a rockin' calendar and a talented staff of gurus, all dedicated to making your weekend stellar. See? No big diff. We'll promise to remain one of the most "worth it" publications on Grounds, and you promise to continue to read us. (Thanks, Mom.)If you're new to U.Va., consider this issue a big "Hello" from tableau. Welcome to C'ville. We hope you'll find this issue a valuable guide to the student scene. Inside you'll read run-downs of the food, art, culture and liquor that keep us buzzing physically and intellectually around here. Since we'd like to make your cultural transition to college as smooth (and by smooth we mean smoove) as possible, we've also included tips on how to partake in the scene like a pro. You'll see more of the same every week. So, really, I don't know why I said goodbye. I'll say hello.
