Women travel to Alexandria for exhibition

Over the weekend, goalkeeper Kendall McBrearty traveled with the rest of the Virginia womens' lacrosse team to her high school alma mater.

Saint Steven and Saint Agnes High school in Alexandria, Virginia held the inaugural Stars and Stripes exhibition series. Squads from the University of North Carolina and Richmond also participated in the weekend of practices, clinics and scrimmages deigned to showcase the three national teams: Elite, Developmental and U-19.

Virginia competed first against the U.S. Elite Team and then Richmond in the afternoon. With McBrearty making 14 saves and freshman Ashley McCulloch scoring two goals, the Cavaliers held their own against the Elite squad. Sophomore Whit Hagerman led the charge against Richmond, tallying a hat trick and two assists.
