Smoke alerts fire officials

Charlottesville Fire and Rescue officials responded yesterday night to an incident involving smoke accumulation at Wilsdorf Hall. Battalion Chief Richard Jones said officials responded to the incident at 6:26 p.m. after a University Police Department officer on patrol noticed the smoke accumulation in the building's second floor.

Although Jones could not confirm the exact origin of the smoke, officials suspected it came from an overheated light ballast located within the ceiling of the second floor.\nNobody in the building was harmed.
